C&J Clark, commonly known as Clarks, was the parent company of Ravel Shoes in the United Kingdom. It started in 1825 when Cyrus Clark started a tanning and wool stapling business. Three years later, his brother James added the production of sheepskin slippers to the company. They first found their niche as a comfort shoe at the turn of the century. What's so Special About Ravel Shoes?

Ravel boots and ravel shoes were beyond trendy. They were trendsetting. They were daring and youthful while stamped the quality seal that comes with being a Clarks shoes.

In the 1960's, they set the shoes trends with Mary Jane shoes. They created all sorts of amazing and fun shoes. The other companies just watched, then made copycats of the best sellers. No one could keep up.
